How to Use This Asset
Purpose: Clean data is the foundation of everything (forecasting, analytics, customer insights). A Data Dictionary is your organization's agreement on:
- What data you have (fields, definitions)
- Where it lives (system of record)
- Who owns it (accountability)
- How clean it needs to be (quality SLAs)
- How to keep it clean (governance procedures)
Use this to:
- Eliminate confusion ("Is this field in Salesforce or data warehouse?")
- Onboard new team members ("Here's our data model")
- Build trust with data ("Can I rely on this metric?")
- Identify gaps ("We're missing X data we need")
- Enforce standards ("All opportunities must have Amount + Close Date")
Setup Steps:
- Customize the Data Model to your business (accounts, contacts, opportunities, subscriptions)
- Define each field (definition, type, owner, quality threshold)
- Set governance procedures (weekly audits, remediation process, escalation)
- Publish to Notion and share across GTM teams
